Brief Description. Considered to be one of the unique landmarks of Mumbai, the gateway of India is located 2.5km from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminal at the tip of Apollo Bunder, overlooking the Mumbai Harbour. This colossal structure was designed and constructed in the year 1924. The design was proposed by the British Architect George Wittet.
